Katari, Musica Tradicional Latinoamericana

Katari se presentará en el escenario del teatro Freeman en Bayside el 23 de Julio.

Disfrute de los sonidos de la música y danza folklórica latinoamericana tradicional. Katari interpreta bella música de los Andes con una variedad de composiciones originales en diferentes estilos.

“Así como el mundo está en creciente interconexión, una de las consecuencias mas brillantes es compartir las tradiciones musicales. La música, el lenguaje universal, puede superar las barreras del lenguaje y el miedo a lo diferente que siente a menudo la gente. Calma nuestra alma y nos une de una manera en que solo estamos empezando a imaginar.” Dice Marco Antonio Hernandez líder de la agrupación, “presente el nombre de Katari ya que Tupac Katari fue un músico en los Andes antes de la llegada de Cristóbal Colon. Tupac fue un defensor de los derechos humanos de los Aymaras después de la llegada de Colon. Su apellido “Katari” es ahora el titulo de la flauta dulce más importante del contexto musical Boliviano. Durante un concierto, no importa el estilo musical que estemos tocando, siempre incluimos una canción con quenas y una frase por la humanidad.”

Katari esta apasionado por la música folklórica latinoamericana. Interpretan música de México, America Central y Suramerica. Han actuado en eventos culturales en museos, universidades, iglesias, festivales, conferencias y tiendas de comercio justo a través de toda la región del Atlántico medio.

Katari, Latin American folk music traditions

Katari will perform at The Freeman Stage at Bayside on the July 23th, 7:00 PM

Enjoy the sounds of Latin American folk music traditions and dancing. Katari plays beautiful folk music of the Andes with a variety of original compositions in different styles.

“As the world grows increasingly interconnected, one of the brighter consequences is the sharing of musical traditions. Music, the universal language, can overcome barriers of language and fears of difference often felt by people.

It soothes the soul and unites us in a way we've only begun to imagine.” Says Marco Antonio Hernandez leader of the group, “I brought the name of Katari to the table. Tupac Katari used to be a musician in the Andes before Columbus arrival. Tupac was a defender of the Aymaras human rights after Columbus arrived. His last name, “Katari,” is now the title of the most important panpipe music contest in Bolivia. During a concert, no matter what music style we are playing, we always include a song with panpipes and a phrase for humanity.

Katari is impassioned by Latin American folk music. We play music from Mexico, Central America, and South America. We have performed concerts for cultural events at museums, universities, churches, festivals, conferences, and fair trade stores throughout the Mid Atlantic region.
