ARTADDICTION 2015

Cuando un tema tan sensible como la adicción es llevado al terreno del arte… todo puede pasar, incluso que lleguen obras tan impactantes como el propio drama humano de la adicción o la esperanza de la recuperación.

Así lo demostraron los artistas que participaron en la séptima edición de Artaddiction, concurso artístico organizado por el Programa de Promotores de Prevención, que busca crear conciencia en la comunidad sobre los temas de las adicciones y el proceso de recuperación.

Este 18 de junio de 2015 el Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts acogió la ceremonia de premiación de los 16 artistas participantes, quienes a través de un increíble talento y originalidad presentaron obras que deslumbraron a todos los invitados.

Un jurado compuesto por cinco integrantes seleccionó a los ganadores dentro de la notable muestra artística.

En total fueron 20 las obras presentadas para dos categorías que se dividieron en dos niveles: principiantes y avanzados. La Categoría Avanzada premió los tres primeros lugares más las obras que mostraron mejor Impacto Visual, Contenido y Técnica. Y en la Categoría Principiante se premió el Impacto Visual y Contenido.

Participantes: Daniela Arteaga, M.J.Brownson, Eduardo Carrera, Jesus Javier Chavarria Sanchez, Antonio Chavez, Mirta Falche, Tyelor Farmer, Gabriela Freites, Stephanie Hamil, Eric Hendrickson, Cristina Huertas, Monica Lopez, Andres Ramirez, Johana Reinert.

Las obras continuarán en exposición en el Grand Opera House de Wilmington, Delaware en septiembre y están todos invitados a presenciar uno de los concursos de arte que más impacto tiene en la comunidad de Delaware.

Los ganadores fueron:

Ganadores nivel principiante: 3er Gabriela Freites "The Journey to freedom", 2do Denise Vazquez Matos "A Faith greater than trials", 1er Monica Lopez "Heroin Epidemia".

 

Ganadores Nivel Avanzado: 3er Brett Witte "Overflowing Journey", 2do Eric Hendrickson "Hey Zeus!", 1er Tyelor Farmer "Grotesque Magpie".




Healing through Art

ARTADDICTION 2015

When such a sensitive issue as the addiction is taken to the field of art ... anything can happen, even having impressive pieces as the human drama of addiction or the hope of recovery.

This was demonstrated by the artists who participated in the seventh edition of Artaddiction, art competition organized by the Promoters of Prevention Program, which seeks to create awareness in the community on issues of addiction and recovery process.

This June 18, 2015 the Delaware Center for the Contemporary Arts hosted the awards ceremony of the 16 participating artists, who through their incredible talent and originality presented art pieces that dazzled the guests.

A jury of five members selected the winners in the remarkable artistic show.

In total there were 20 pieces presented for two categories that were divided into two levels: beginners and advanced. The Advanced Category awarded the first three places plus works that showed better visual impact, content and technique. And in the Beginners Category visual impact and content was awarded.

The artwork will continue on display at the Grand Opera House in Wilmington, Delaware in September, and everyone is invited to witness one of the art competitions that impact the most the community of Delaware.
