Luego de una investigación de un mes madre e hijo son detenidos por posesión de drogas

El jueves 14 de Septiembre la Unidad de Drogas de la Policía del Condado de Kent en compañía de la Fuerza de Choque especial de la Gobernación del Estado y el equipo de operaciones especiales llevaron a cabo una orden de cateo en una residencia de Barratts Chapel Road el Felton. Luego de la orden de cateo Jose L. Jimenez Jr. (hijo) y Cynthia L. Jimenez (madre) fueron detenidos sin incidentes.

Two Arrested in After Month Long Drug Investigation

Felton, DE- The Delaware State Police Kent Count Drug Unit concluded a month long investigation into the illegal sale of marijuana from a Felton residence.

On Thursday September 4, 2014 at approximately 11:50 a.m., the Drug Task Force along with the Kent County Governor's Task Force (GTF) and Special Operations Response Team (SORT) conducted a search warrant at a residence in the unit block of Barratts Chapel Road. Upon executing the search, Jose L. Jimenez Jr. (son) and Cynthia L. Jimenez (mother) were both taken into custody without incident.

A search of the house yielded over 228 grams of marijuana and other drug paraphernalia, a 9mm handgun with one round in the chamber, a muzzle loader rifle, and over $590.00 in suspected drug proceeds.

Jose Jimenez, 21, and Cynthia Jimenez, 52, were transported to Troop 3 where they were Jose was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Marijuana), two counts of Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Cynthia was charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Controlled Substance (Marijuana) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia which stemmed from an incident that occurred on July 24, 2014 when she sold approximately 7.9 grams of marijuana to an undercover trooper at the residence.

Both subjects were arraigned at JP2 and Jose Jimenez was committed to James T. Vaughn Correctional Center in lieu of $162,000.00 secured bond, while Cynthia Jimenez was released on $10,200.00 unsecured bond.

On Sunday August 31, 2014 around 1:30 a.m., troopers responded to the same residence for a report of shots fired. A disabled vehicle was located approximately a half mile away from the house with four bullet holes, one of them striking the radiator. The four occupants, three 18 year old females, and an 18 year old male, were not injured in the melee, and were unable to give a description of the shooter. Preliminary investigation reveals there was a party at the home and when an altercation broke out, the gathering began to break up as gunshots rang out. No other injuries have been reported and the incident remains under investigation.
